Couples therapy is my area of expertise. I have worked with hundreds of couples and draw upon several modalities and theories to provide a process that is tailored to the issues each couple faces. Couples come to therapy for a variety of reasons including to improve communication, to rebuild friendship, intimacy and romance, to work on more effective regulation of conflict, or to cope with loss and process painful events in their relationship. Although this list is not exhaustive, it gives you an idea of the many reasons couples seek counseling.
MARATHON COUPLES THERAPY
Marathon Couples Therapy is 15-20 hours of therapy offered over three consecutive days. Different from weekly therapy, this format gives couples time to work more intensively on their relationship. The process moves from assessment straight into intervention, potential for in depth healing of past hurts and an opportunity to practice new communication skills. Many couples describe the process as transformative. Follow up sessions are welcome as needed.
I am a Certified Gottman Therapist and Certified Gottman Workshop Leader. You can learn more about John and Julie Gottman’s contribution to couples therapy/marathon couples therapy and about the Art and Science of Love workshops for couples by visiting www.gottman.com
